  • What is ITRA?

ITRA or “International Trail Running Association” is an international governing body for for trail-running and the advisor to the International Freestyle Sports Association (WA) for trail running. ITRA oversees the accreditation for trail runs and runners can earn ITRA points and an ITRA score by participating in races. ITRA points are awarded to runners who finish particular races, regardless of their final time. ITRA points can be awarded from 1 up to 6 points. ITRA scores awarded based on how fast you run the race. The score can be from 100-1000. The individual scores of each runner are then used to calculate their Performance Index. This index is used to rank runners in trail-runs around the world where the best runners have the highest Performance Index score. More information on ITRA here.
